100 Greatest Songs Of The 80's... 100-81

The NCV Crew is doing a special 4th of July countdown and is numbering our greatest songs of the 80's. This in our opinion are our favorite 80's songs and consider the best. There will always be a debate, but one thing is for certain, the 80's made for some tremendous sounds. Here it is and ENJOY!!!

100. Do You Really Want To Hurt Me: Culture Club

Love or hate him, he made some pretty catchy tunes in the 80's. This was our favorite out of them.

99. White Wedding: Billy Idol

This song was always a favorite of ours. Especially when played in movies such as The Wedding Singer. Billy Idol was definitely one of those rockin' artists that put out some hits in the 80's.

98. Pass The Dutchie: Musical Youth

To us for some reason they felt like a Reggae version of New Edition. I dunno just a bunch of youngsters putting out a hit.

97. Don't Dream It's Over: Crowded House

One of Shanezoola's favorite 80's tracks. Such a sweet, uplifting song.

96. Glamorous Life: Sheila E

One of those underrated artists that NCV always love. She quietly put out some catchy songs during her time with this being one of our faves. A very versatile artist too.

95. Relax: Frankie Goes To Hollywood

A little bit of a weird music video but a song that stuck in our heads all these years.

94. 99 Luftballoons: Nena

We totally forgot how cute Nena was back in the day. This was truly a one hit wonder.

93. Casanova: Levert

Great R&B tune in the 80's by an underrated group. A lot of people probably wouldn't know the meaning of Casanova without this song. I'm singing it right now while typing this... Me and Romeo ain't never been friends.

92. Conga: Gloria Estefan

The popularity of Gloria Estefan was massive in the 80's. Not a lot of songs at the time had a Latin influence and she put out hit after hit and showed us why we love Latinas so much!

91. Hells Bells: AC/DC

The ultimate rock and roll sports anthem. This song not only was in your stereo before games but was just a song you can absolutely rock to!

90. Love Bizarre: Sheila E and Prince

Great collaboration. Another person who ruled the 80's was Prince and he and Sheila E combined themselves for this timeless hit.

89. Ain't Nobody: Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan was more popular in the 70's but this song always and forever will be in our hearts.

88. We've Got The Beat: The Go-Go's

They revolutionized a girl rock group with Belinda Carlisle leading the way.

87. The Way You Love Me: Karyn White

A hottie in the 80's. A sensational voice. One of those cute-sy music videos and song that always stuck with us.

86. Jump: Van Halen

Always will remember David Lee Roth's voice on this song. You got to roooooooll with the punches!

85. Cool It Now: New Edition

This group was our personal favorites in the 80's (and 90's) and this bubble gum hit was one that we always have on our ipods nowadays

84. Show Me: Cover Girls

If you want to take a trip down to memory lane with just the fashions itself watch this video. The song is just a bonus!

83. Right Here Waiting: Richard Marx

A real sweet soft rock ballad. It will be in every soft rock CD compilation ever made.

82. Take You Home: Lisa Lisa and The Cult Jam

Arguably one of the best freestyle songs in the 80's. Solid beats. Solid jam.

81. Up Where We Belong: Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes

The 80's had some great duets and this was one of those melodies. This song was featured in one of the best romantic movies in the 80's "An Officer and A Gentleman".
