Penguins Round 2 Update Including Playoff Beard

The Penguins rolled over the New York Rangers 4-1 to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals which culminated in a 3-2 Game 5 Overtime win in Pittsburgh to advance. The Pens will meet the HATED Philadelphia Flyers in the East Finals and for the right to play for Lord Stanley's Cup. So here's the recap of the 2nd Round Matchup!

Game 1
The Pens were outclassed in the first and half of the second, but their ability to score quickly struck twice. Down 3-0 to the Rangers, Jarkko Ruutu and Pascal Dupuis score 14 seconds apart to cut it to 1...

Ruutu's Goal 3-1

Dupuis' Goal 14 seconds later 3-2

After 2 the Pens strike again this time 20 seconds apart and Marian Hossa and Petr Sykora net em for the Penguins!

Hossa ties it at 3

Sykora gives the Pens a 4-3 lead

The Rangers don't give up and tie the game with less than 10 minutes left, but a costly penalty leads to a Penguin Power Play with less than 2 minutes in regulation... Which set up for some drama...

GAME! 5-4 Penguins (Pens lead series 1-0)

Game 2
The Rangers came at them hard, but Pens goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was just stellar! He was making stop after stop and (with the help of an early whistle to disallow a goal) Jordan Staal's beautiful power play goal along with Adam Hall's Empty Netter gave the Pens a 2-0 game and series lead.

Pens 2 Rangers 0 (PIT leads 2-0)

Game 3
Everyone knew the Rangers were gonna come out on fire, but it was quickly silence by the Penguins scoring a little over a minute into the game. Then the Rangers scrapped and tied the game, only for the Pens to get momentum back with 2 straight goals. The Rangers wouldn't go away and score two goals of their own, but Evgeni Malkin's goal on the power play give the Pens a lead and Ryan Malone's tip-in sealed it for Pittsburgh and gave them a commanding 3-0 lead

Pens 5 Rangers 3 (PIT leads 3-0)

Game 4
If you thought they were gonna sweep em. You were wrong. Ranger goalie Henrik Lundqvist was stellar! One game too late though.

Rangers 3 Penguins 0 (PIT leads 3-1)

Game 5
One of those games where the Penguins wanted to bury them in Pittsburgh so they wouldn't have to head back to NYC. And they did early on.

Marian Hossa gives the Pens a 1-0 lead!

Evgeni Malkin gives the Pens a 2-0 with his own rush!

A 2 goal lead for the Pens is pretty worthless and it showed as the Rangers battled back early in the third to tie the game at 2. As the game went into overtime, the Penguins came close a couple of times and continued to pressure... Until...

Marian Hossa ends it!

Pens 3 Rangers 2 OT (PIT WINS SERIES 4-1)

Series MVP: Evgeni Malkin. How can I even say this guy is the best player on the team with Sidney Crosby wearing the same jersey!

PLAYOFF BEARD UPDATE
Unfortunately, my beard didn't last. I shaved it May 1st. I'm sorry to disappoint you fellow Pens fans and readers, but with me not liking facial hair, it was just too much! The last straw... I woke up with food stuck to my beard. But beard or no beard it is destiny! So the final four is set... In The West...

...In The East
